A Question For The Audience

Lately I have been wondering about the usefulness of my own journal, and to what purposes I want to put it.

I'm going to replace daily journaling of the events in my life with a life wiki. I still have my personal web site, and I'm going to keep maintaining that. I'm going to keep my LJ account, because I still want to be able to reply to and read other people's posts.

LJ still gives me a controlled public forum, which is nice. I'd still like to have an outlet for my creative writing, and I think I may keep publishing works here. It's just that it seems like I'm not using my journal for much these days, and I'd rather leverage the capabilities of a wiki to add more context to journaling my life.

So - what do you, my audience, think about this? I've said previously that this journal is mainly for me, but I know you all read it and you should have some say in what you've got to read. I might even figure out a way to make an RSS feed from the wiki or something if you still would rather just read daily life related stuff here on LJ, but these days I'm more interested in making a contextual chronicle of my past.

a wiki is such a cute idea, but I don't know if I would have the time and patience to read something that doesn't come up on my friends list. Perhaps you could post to LJ something like, "Today I updated my wiki with x,y,z. Check it out at htttp://"

Mainly I want to construct a timeline of my life... put up photos, all that. I'm going to have my family edit it and fill in gaps for me too.
