Not everyone is as techie as you who want portable devices and all that stuff. Even for free I have no desire to put shows on a video iPod. I have a TiVo because I want to watch TV shows on my TV. I could get as much enjoyment out of shows like CSI or Bones without being able to see detail because of a tiny TiVo screen.

All TiVo needs to do is add a format through the TiVo desktop to allow people to download shows from the TiVo to any portable video device, where as iPod will have a proprietary format.
