Game Boy SP
Sep. 12th, 2003 02:31 pmSo, after meeting my financial obligations for the month, I found myself with a bit of disposable cash left over. I decided to splurge a little and get myself an upgrade... specifically, I went to GameStop in Lincoln Plaza and traded in my Game Boy Advance for a GBA SP.
I think it was a pretty darn good deal; I traded in my GBA with a Pelican light/cover, an AC adapter, and a carrying case for $40.00 of store credit. I then purchased a nice onyx color GBA SP, a leather slipcover, and a USB and car adapter package for a grand total of about $125.00... on the spur of the moment, I also decided to get a copy of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the advice of a friend (another $40.00). My total cost was about $91.00... because the cashier forgot to charge me for the game!! I didn't realize it until after I got home - otherwise I would have said something. But you know, I'm okay with getting a free game too. :)
Anyhow - this thing is really slick. It's much more compact (no need for a cover or light anymore), it looks sexy, and I like that it's rechargeable and comes with an AC adapter. The USB and car adapter bits are very cool - now I can suck juice out of anyone's PC or laptop, and I can play on road trips too! I am teh happy.
Update: I called GameStop and told them that I looked at the receipt and saw that I wasn't charged for the game - it turns out the manager was the person who sold me the game. She thanked me for calling and asked if I could stop in at some point to charge me for it... she remembered scanning the item, and it just didn't get entered into the system for some reason. She said she'd give me ten percent off for my trouble.
