A Question For Vegetarians
Nov. 10th, 2003 06:34 pmAs a vegetarian (or even just as someone who is against using animals in general), do you eschew all animal products when you can?
The corollary is: would you choose to not use drugs made with genetically modified animal products? The company that I got the chicken image from is modifying chickens so that the eggs they lay contain specific proteins that can be harvested for a variety of purposes.
Would a vegetarian who doesn't eat ovo-lacto have to avoid the drugs and such made in this manner? How would you even know that this transgenic process was even involved in that product's manufacture...?
