Religion should never be a part of governance.
Those who deeply and sincerely believe otherwise are plainly and clearly wrong to think so. And not only are they wrong, they are completely and utterly unamerican! I cannot think of any value that more clearly goes against the most cherished concept of the founding of this country, where freedom from religious tyranny was so desperately sought!!
To be American is to be tolerant of differences, and to welcome people of all stripes to join in the celebration of life and freedom and to pursue happiness in whatever form it may take! Fascist fundamentalist conservatives who seek only to stamp their moral code on the foreheads of all people need not apply.
