Streamlining
May. 12th, 2004 04:46 pmI made a conscious decision over vacation to winnow away a bunch of material things that I have no need to keep around. The first things I thought of discarding were the dozens of WIRED magazines I've got taking up too much space on my bookshelf.
I decided to flip through the first issue I ever got, June 1994 - 2.06. It features ads for 3x CD-ROM drives, Power Macs, and the Pentium processor. Article highlights include the Clinton administration's Clipper chip proposal, the NSA versus the fledgling EFF, and a bunch of other really dry and boring pieces.
Ten years I've held onto this magazine! What the hell was I thinking? Away with this trash...
