Meeting An Idol Today
Jul. 3rd, 2004 10:29 amDespite not feeling 100 percent healthy, I'm heading out to TE in a little while to go meet Kurt Busiek and see how much of the dozen or so comics I'm bringing with me he'll sign.
Kurt is an award-winning writer, and has authored a number of now seminal works in today's comics industry - including pioneering work in the "deconstructionist" genre that is so popular lately. He's the creator of Astro City, and he wrote "Marvels" and is currently writing for the new Conan series and a WWI fantasy genre story called Arrowsmith. He's also known for being one of the world's greatest comics trivia buffs; he remembers details that other authors have completely forgetten and incorporates them into current continuity in his own stories.
Today will be a good day I think.
