Last Night = AWESOME
Jul. 23rd, 2005 07:14 pmFirst off, everyone has to go to see the show in Boston ASAP. It is terrific, funny stuff - two hours of entertainment for ten dollars - and they give away free passes to a karaoke bar around the corner afterwards! Note that the show is also travelling to Portsmouth, NH for you folks out in that general area.
So, the night started off with a bang; as we got seated, I got to see/hug ms. vlvtjones, and she gave me a trio of high quality, hand crafted mousey toys for the General!! He absolutely loves these things, I've never seen him play with any of his other toys with as much gusto. Jess (always good to see the jess) and I laughed heartily at the show, and were also amusingly disturbed by some of the, shall we say... bulging obviousness of certain parts of it? But you'll have to see that for yourself I think.
The first half of the show was the puppets and such, but the second half was a "variety hour" format that included some cool live acts, musicians mostly. There was this wicked cute blonde singer in one of the musical acts who had a great Sarah McLachlan-like voice, and a nifty a capella group called Pitchblende.
We then walked up the street to Finale, looking for a place to get a snack, and got caught in a thunderstorm/downpour. We waited out the rain, and watched the lightning and listened to the thunder - and while we were waiting outside the restaurant we saw a couple kissing across the street (I thought it was romantic, kissing outside in a thunderstorm, but Jess thought it was too "pda"). xspliffx and her man caught up with us a little while later, and we had a most wonderful dessert meal.
In other news... WTF is with the new Transformers cartoon? What kids are actually watching this garbage? Good god, I fear for the future.
