Other Culinary Adventures
Aug. 5th, 2005 06:54 pmI went to the Common Ground for dinner the other day (a hole in the wall cafe next to the Boston Beer Company on Main Street). It was amazingly yummy... and it turns out that the place is run by a "religious community" that is an offshoot of the Twelve Tribes cult. They bake their own bread, and only serve good organic foodstuff. I had a quart(!) of tomato bisque that came with a little warm hunk of buttered bread, a turkey reuben, and a carrot/apple juice with fresh ginger in it. All of it was incredible, and I'll definitely go back some time, even if they read pamphlets to me again.
Today at lunch I had a Kobe beef burger at Chillingsworth. HOLY crap. Man, it was amazingly tasty... I also had an asparagus and watercress salad with truffles that was super num. But that beef - man, you can taste the massaging! I've never tasted any burger so tender. I had them put a couple strips of applewood smoked bacon on top, and that really made it. mmmmmm...
