On Best Days
Aug. 18th, 2005 11:21 amI used a phrase yesterday in a post ("best days ever") without thinking about it too much. As I was waking up this morning, I spent some time reflecting on what I think really were my best days. I didn't really want to make a list, I don't think it's wise or even right to try to codify something like that, so I just tried to reminisce a little.
I thought about days on Maui, about my first promotion, about various and sundry days with girlfriends past (my first kiss, making out in the back of my car, kissing in the middle of Shrewsbury Street), when I got the lead in The Deputy, when we finished the first run of The Red Sun Trilogy, getting my college diploma...
I'm not totally sure, but I suspect that if I sat down and actually made the list, I would find that the majority of my "best days" have happened in the last five years. And I think of those, more may have occured just in the last two or three years.
I think this is encouraging, because it seems to indicate that in a big picture kind of way that I've been on an overall upwards trend for some time now. I think things are going to just keep getting better too.
