A Letter To The Mayor Of Biloxi, Mississippi

I'm sure you must have heard this from others by now, but do you realize how cruel the mayor's comment is to several other **nations**? Nations, not cities.

Are you aware that 283,100 people were killed, and 14,100 remain missing from the 2004 tsunami disaster? Around 1.2 million people became refugees. I'm not unsympathetic to the catastrophic situation your area is experiencing right now, but you may as well be comparing 9/11 to the holocaust.

Please consider rephrasing your statement, at least for the sake of showing the global community that Americans are not as insensitive, insular, and self-centered as they think we are.
