Major Respect

I have some serious, serious respect for Todd Solondz. No one else would dare to make the films he makes. He spent his life savings making his latest, Palindromes.

It's like he's injecting acid into your eyes. Or maybe like he's taking a crap in your soul. These films make you cringe, but FUCK it's a good cringe. You cringe because you're supposed to be cringing, because if you don't you're not human enough. They're a dose of REAL and you better fucking swallow it all down.

He doesn't cast pretty people. He doesn't rely on music to manipulate emotions. His visual palette may have all the subtlety of an asteroid impact, but let me tell you, he's carving a masterpiece out of the surface of the Earth with that fucking rock.
