Controller storage
Nov. 23rd, 2006 10:00 amQuestion: has anyone ever seen a good storage solution for game console controllers?
If you're like me, you have more than one game console and you've got multiple input devices with cords of various shapes and sizes. I'm envisioning the ideal storage system as something akin to a rotating comic book rack with hooks and cleats to hang controllers on and wrap cords around respectively. I'm also thinking that it needs some hanging pockets for other types of accessories like guns or Wii remotes.
I don't suppose something like that already exists, eh? I'm going to have to make it I guess.
Ooo oo! Okay, here's the idea. The tree is hollow down the center, and all the cords go down the middle and sit in notches on top of the tube, which also has a disc that lays on top to cover everything. No wrapping, no unnecessary bending of cords, causing wear and tear over time. And! Instead of hooks, you thread velcro straps through slots that go in the side of the tube, and just strap the controllers in.
Slap that puppy on top of a lazy susan, and you have an ideal controller storage system. Spray paint it black or chrome as your heart desires. I'm thinking a tube with a ten or twelve inch diameter, and forty inches high or something.
Shit, I think I will make one of these. It'd barely take an afternoon.
