Polyphasic Sleep
May. 29th, 2007 10:40 amThese days I've been lucky to get six hours of sleep. And it has not been uninterrupted sleep, as Gau has taken to waking me up at INHUMAN hours of the morning to feed him (at around 4:00a.m. he either attacks the bed or leaps over me and steps on me with one foot using all of his weight). It's troubling enough to me that I'm getting a door installed specifically to keep him out of my bedroom, which is sad because I like dozing with my cat.
But despite sleeping so little, I still find myself with not enough time to do all the things I want to do. So I'm wondering if I shouldn't just try polyphasic sleep, as purported to be used by such folks as Edison and da Vinci. I think that I'm almost there now anyway, as I end up dozing off a bit in the afternoons when I have less than six hours of sleep. If I can work it out such that I only need three and a half hours of core sleep and a couple of naps during the day, I can cut my sleep down to about four and a half hours.
