Maybe Leaving LJ
Dec. 3rd, 2007 09:41 amI'm sure many of you are aware of the new changes of ownership and censorship on Livejournal. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing to do, if one cares about such things, is to leave LJ.
At this point, the only things really keeping me at LJ (besides that I just paid for another year of it):
- The blog link has a little authority at Technorati
- The blog link has some Google ranking
- All my friends use LJ
I'm pretty sure that I can get all my content off LJ, delete the account, and start again elsewhere; it'll be a pain in the ass, but it's doable. I can also get RSS feeds from all the journals I care about reading. So the only really disappointing thing is losing the established cred my LJ has.
Would you miss my LJ if it was gone? RSS is everyone's friend, of course.
