Got Advance Wars: Days of Ruin from the Nintendo Store. Currently on the 12th campaign level - still "tutorial" levels where they introduce you to units and put you through simple scenarios (this level's got naval units).
First impressions:
- AI seems roughly the same; no better, no worse.
- Some new units, some twists on old ones. All the changes are good though, the new bits make a lot of sense.
- They have fully enabled full touchscreen play, which is awesome. No more button pushing (though you can).
- Haven't done any WiFi play yet, but the option is there, I'm looking forward to remotely challenging humans.
- A little sad that the story isn't continuing... not that there was much there to begin with, but the characters are gone. It's a new world with new people (or is it? Maybe it's the far future?)
- Also, this is the big thing... NO MORE CO POWERS??!? At least, not yet? Maybe they show up after you learn all the units? Must keep playing...
