Most Killed Comic Book Supervillain?
Jul. 12th, 2008 11:05 amSupervillains are extremely resilient - moreso than heroes, in general. But how often do they return from the grave, literally? There are plenty of times they fake their deaths, sure; but how many are actually "immortal" bad guys? I can think of several (without including the wide variety of supernatural types):
1) The Red Skull
2) Arnim Zola
3) Ultron
4) Brainiac
5) Vandal Savage
6) The Leader
edit: 7) Ra's Al Ghul
These dudes have all been destroyed on multiple occasions. The Red Skull's died and been cloned and had his consciousness transferred so many times it borders on ridiculous; same for The Leader, to some extent. It's also interesting that three of them are basically mechanical/robotic in nature. Also, I neglected to add Doctor Doom to the list because, frankly, there's no way of knowing how may times the guy may or may not have actually died. Now THAT is the sign of a successful supervillain - he's got the chaffing and winnowing thing down pat with all his robotic duplicates and time travel abilities.
