I decided to splurge the other day and reward myself for going debt-free, making $80 on half.com last month, and generally achieving my near term goals - so I purchased this camera:
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H50and I expect to receive its companion GPS unit Saturday or Monday. I'm very excited to get started using it - the features I'm particularly excited about:
- 9M pixel
- low-light enabled
- full HD 1080 resolution video recording
- 15x optical Carl Zeiss lens
- Super steadiness
- Geotagging
I can't tell you how many times I got caught in bad lighting situations with my Lumix; I never liked its video recording capabilities, and blurriness from not being able to keep it perfectly steady was common. And while I took a hard look at the latest Panasonics, they utterly lacked GPS in their models, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm really super eager to start using the new iPhoto with it as well, to geotag all my pictures and what not.
The cyber-shot really is a strong competitor with the similar line of Lumix mid-size models. I'll probably be posting complaints and downsides for the thing soon enough, so stay tuned for those; the one immediate thing that bugs me though is the Memory Stick DUO, I hate having to use their proprietary memory card.
