More Connected!
Tonight was a very productive evening. I discovered that my ISP (the World) has a local number here in Harwich, so I can get dialup access.
I also finally got help for setting up my Treo 600 for wireless Internet access via AT&T phone support; it turns out that one must actually register to get a username and password from AT&T Wireless in order to connect - a step that Amazon.com doesn't actually mention you need to do. And even though I went to the store at the Cape Cod Mall to talk to AT&T sales weasels, they were zero help. They should have been able to:
a) ask me whether or not I had an account set up and
b) set one up for me
Instead, they were morons.
So anyway, here I am, happily wired up again. Hooray!
Next on the agenda: making appointments with various medical professionals in the area, apartment hunting, exploring neighboring towns, and forwarding my mail.
