My company does database stuff, application stuff, and middleware stuff for Fortune 500 clients... they don't do any networking or security. :(
On the other hand, they don't care a whole lot about background experience - my boss said that he doesn't care what anyone knows, just how quickly and how well they learn. Trish is always telling me to send her smart people though. I guess it depends on what you want to do?
They might need that soon, basically people giving CranBerry application support to developers and end users. As they get more customers and jobs, they'll want to move that off to support staff and away from us software guys.
