What it is is yet another front TiVo must fight in the War For The Set Top. And it's being fought by an opponent with a huge amount of resources, including: cash money $$; a massive, cult-loyal customer base; huge content deals with big media; and built-in software mechanisms and fully compatible devices for portability of content (there are more iPods with iTunes than TiVos out there in the world).
It's all about content. Content content content. Apple's got it, TiVo don't.
