It's free to join, and has tons of abstracts and materials to look at. I just had six full research papers emailed to me as PDFs on IT/IS topics ranging from electronic privacy, online dating, wardriving, wikis and blogs, and other related stuff.

I'm not aware of what's happening on 8/25 actually. But I put in for vacation at that time because I always take time off around my birthday (Leo/Virgo cusp).
