Meat Pie Meat Pie...

Tonight I start making meat pies. I'm going to make nine of them this year: one for the deli, two for Brittany, three for me, and three going home for Easter (for my folks, my Nonny C, and my Nonny D).

I went to the Stop & Shop and the S&S deli today out in West Boylston. Man, that Stop & Shop is SO much better than the one in Lincoln Plaza. I bought the cheese I needed there, and I also picked up a package of Supreme table cheese (basket cheese)... I'm noshing on it for lunch today (yum).

I bought all the meats I'd need for the pies at S&S, my absolute favorite deli; I also picked up some ham and cheese for lunch, and some fresh Widoff's Italian and foccacia bread (it's like CRACK), as well as a sweet Irish soda bread from the bakery upstairs. Can you tell I didn't eat breakfast today?

I haven't bought everything I need yet (still have to get milk and eggs and pie shells), but I estimate the pies cost about $12.00 each to make (but I like to use high quality ingredients, so you get what you pay for). I'm keeping all my receipts so I can cost it all out better tomorrow.

If you got a low carb pie shell for it, you could call it Atkins Pie and sell them for $22.00 each. :)

PIE. If you want help chopping stuff up, I don't have any plans yet for tonight.

Vegan Pies

I think I'll make a couple of Vegan Easter Pies. I usually use veggie pepperoni, ham and salami w/ soy cheese. I think I'll get some egg substitute as well. I usually just substitute the meats, but this year I'll try completely vegan.

Love those MEAT pies, not. Mmm. Mmm.

The veg pepperoni actually taste a little better, less greassssieeee orange fat to contend with.

totally off-subject, but 'twas good to randomly meet you in person last Friday ^_^

on-subject, foccacia bread is absolutely like crack......addictive!

It was good to be randomly met. :D

I like cutting the foccacia bread in thin slices and toasting it with a slice of swiss or horseradish cheddar on top. YUM.

I will take this moment to remind you that I dream of buying Irish Soda bread with you. I have sort of had a premonition about this meal. Take that as you will (creepily, preferably).

I love it! Tasty, creepy soda bread!

Hey, if I ask you to be my stalker, does that take all the stalker-icity out of it?

Oh no, not at all. As long as I am obtrusive and distressing, it will still work out!
