I'm going to be on a plane bound for Hawaii in a little over 100 hours.

Saturday: Elevensies at the tea house with mentia999: cinnamon plum tea with half of a ham and cheese sandwich (with maple champagne mustard on basil foccacia) and cup of butternut bisque, followed by a ginger pear scone with double cream and lemon curd. We then hung out at the new Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Plaza, said hi to Tabkat, and wrote for a couple hours... and lastly, went grocery shopping and made a nice dinner of bean salad and sauteed spinach and garlic.

Sunday: Birthday brunch for haywire with friends at Indian Meadows - a good, quality brunch spot for a decent price. They had turkey, ham, and roast beef at a carving station; made to order belgian waffles and omlettes; a full bar of breakfast meats, rolled filled pancakes, salads, fruit, bagels, danishes, and more; and a scrumptious dessert table. Much yumminess and good cheer. It was so gorgeous outside that we all decided to head over to Green Hill Park and play with the frisbee I had in my trunk. Jediseth had fun making me dive for it. :)

meerkitty and jzer showed up a little later, and when the brunch crowd headed out, I hooked up with them for dinner and took them to the Wonder Bar. Sunday nights at the Wonder Bar feature live jazz over the Summer - one of the owners of the place is the drummer in a great quartet. We had some fantastic pizza and a generally great time, then jzer went to Java Hut and meerkitty and I watched "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys" (decent flick).

And thus, today, I am a bit tired and sore from frisbee and a busy busy weekend. But I am most content.

The CEO of McDonald's died of an "apparent heart attack"...

The dude got $6 million in compensation last year; and he only just got the job as of last January.

Karma at work, my friends. That's what it is.

I am currently eating "Uncle Mike's 'Kissed By Fire' Northeast Of The Border Salsa". I got it at the Branch Davidian farm off exit 24 of 290. It is superior. Very hot, but not overwhelming - it's very flavorful with nice big chunks. I'm having it with onion and garlic rice crackers... oh so yummy.
