I'm putting my life in boxes again. My life primarily consists of the words and pictures of other people, and secondarily consists of toys and kitchen appliances.

I'm trying to pare the amount of things I have down some more. I'm going to have a "moving sale" of sorts when I'm all packed up. I'll have some books and magazines and toys and random crap to unload if people are interested in such things.

I wonder how many more times I'm going to fill boxes...?

Last Night

I went to visit Jess last night down in RI. I had a really great time hanging out with her, as always. She took me to a dying strip mall with a store called "The Toy Vault" that must have had every freaking obscure action figure ever made. They had a couple of tables with a bunch of comic books from 10 or so years ago, and I got to paw through them a bit and find a couple of little gems for 33 cents each. LOTS of garbage books mostly, but you always find the cool stuff amongst the piles of crap in hole in the wall joints.

We went to go see I, Robot and it was actually a more decent movie than I thought it was going to be. They pretty much just took the base premise of Asimov's story and totally ran with it, and they made a pretty good movie out of it. They had to make a lot of changes to turn it into an action movie, but somewhere in there they managed to keep a good chunk of the intent of Asimov's story.

We then went out for Chinese food and the meal was pretty decent, but I haven't had much of an appetite the last few days, so I ended up taking most of my dinner home. I actually managed to eat it when I got back to Worcester though, it was good stuff.

So, two weeks ago I was supposed to get this phone call from a firm in downtown Boston - a tech phone screen kind of thing that would have led to an in person interview. I never got the call and was kind of miffed, so I decided to use the time to try calling the company on the Cape... and that of course led to where I am today.

I got an email today from the HR person who set up the phone screen with the Boston firm telling me that the number the guy was calling was disconnected. I checked my resume, and it turns out I transposed two digits in my phone number.

If I hadn't typed my phone number wrong in that resume, I might never have called Trish about the job in the Cape. I might have accepted another offer by the time I even heard from them...

Whoa. Holy shit whoa.
