I'm looking at an apartment in Hyannis tonight that could be exactly what I'm looking for. 2BR, $1100 a month with cable and utilities included, and it'll allow a cat. It's on Circuit Ave, which is very close to Veterans Beach.

I just saw online that if I order high speed internet from Comcast, I'll get two free passes to the LotR exhibit at the Museum of Science!

Life is good.

If you want to sign up for an FNX card, or you already have one, they're showing AVP for free at Loew's Boston tomorrow night.

I would have posted this earlier, but my phone's battery was dying...

I'm currently sitting in The Prodigal Son, a cafe and bar located right off Main Street in downtown Hyannis. I just finished a Souchong tea, and I think I'm waiting for open mic night to happen.

I took a look at an apartment that is right down the street from here. A three minute drive, maybe a twelve minute walk. All of Main Street is right here - the half price on Monday sushi place, the Internet access place, and several cafes are within a walk. The mall and movie theater are a ten minute drive, and the highway is right there next to them.

It's an incredible location, right in the heart of all the cool stuff. I could walk out of the house and be on the beach in five minutes.

The apartment is BIG. Almost the same size as my place in Worcester, maybe just a little smaller. It has all the features I'm looking for on my list, although I forgot to ask about laundry hookups. But it also has a fireplace which is damn cool.

The downside is that I don't have a yard - in fact, I would share the yard and entrance to my apartment with a great dane and a rottweiler. The upstairs floors are populated by three dogs, five cats, two hermit crabs, and parents and children.

I'm not totally sold. I'm being methodical in my search, so I'm going to continue looking at places. But this place has a lot of pros, and the dogs are really the only con. I probably would have said yes on the spot if the spectre of stepping in dog shit weren't hanging in the air, so to speak.
