Digital TV Tuners
Jun. 19th, 2008 10:20 pmI signed up to get my $40 credit for an HDTV (edited for total accuracy: digital) tuner for my old analog set, and received the gift card in the mail a couple days ago. My eight year old set still works great, and I want to be able to tap into the higher quality TV signal, so I've ordered the Consumer Reports top rated box, the Tivax STB-T9. The price has already jumped up to $60 from $50, probably because of the high rating and for increasing demand. I know the HD signal will look nicer than a cable signal; and I won't have to worry about cable failures (I get several a month) or the random removal of channels from my cable lineup from one level of service to another.
