I've seen this before. Back in my day, we called it "Resident Evil".
J.J. Abrams couldn't come up with anything more inventive than Resident Evil: The Series? For that matter, why the hell is Fringe a better show than Global Frequency? Because it's going to have all those kooky little LOST-style visual cookie crumbs for viewers to obssess over? Oh, the merchandising!! Fringe board game, Fringe puzzle, Fringe anatomically correct action figures with glow in the dark tattoos in Latin that reveal exclusive secret info...
Yes, I'm still watching it anyway. Because I miss THRESHOLD and SURFACE, and because watching the Global Frequency pilot over and over again just makes me more and more bitter. And because none of these shows will ever duplicate the success of X-Files, not matter how hard they try to be that show.
