What your MD needs to fill out is a drug prior authorization form. You need to supply to your MD the name and telephone number of your pharmacy, and the pharmacy's BCBS provider number (your pharmacist has that #). The MD's office fills out the paperwork and you are either accepted or denied coverage. If you are denied, there has to be something similar that is covered in their drug formulary.
I'd also call the drug company and tell them you have a prescription, and see if they'll send you samples or a coupon for the drug.
