Or maybe you always got the looks but because you think you've made a dramatic change and want to see if other people have noticed you are paying more attention and actually seeing what has been there all along but you never noticed.

It's possible, but I really don't think I've become that much more observant - I look for things like smiles and looks and hair tosses/body language, and I saw a lot of that. The glasses really are a lot more noticeable on me, they're thicker frames and very square.

Maybe the square frames give you better peripheral vision, so you really do "see" it for the first time...
