I have another ear infection. It really fucking hurts. I have an appointment to see the doctor, but it's hours away... I wish I could get my own damned antibiotics and ear drops.

I HAVE TO GET A SHOWER. I can't take these ear infections any more.

I TOTALLY know what you mean. I have had cronic ear infections, surgeries, pain, etc. Oftentimes ear drops hurt me a lot. I've (almost) gotten to the point of taking sudafed as soon as it gets itching. The thing that has worked the best for me is lying with infected ear on a heating pad. :( Feel better.

As a child I had a lot of ear infections... because tubes are smaller and more horizontal then and my parents were both smokers.

What my mom used to do is put drops in my ears to help dry them out each time I went swimming or got water in my ears. The drops contained a combination of vinegar and alcohol and they helped to get in and dry my ears where you shouldn't put q-tips and etc. I was recently in CVS and noticed they had alcohol packaged in drop form for little kids for exactly this purpose. Maybe its something you can add to your routine to help prevent them in the future.

I used to get a lot of ear aches as a child (tubes are shorter, and more horizontal then).

My mom used to put drops in my ears after I went swimming, etc to help dry them out. She used alcohol and vinegar mix, but I noticed in the children's medication area in CVS that there are alcohol drops that are supposed to do the same thing. Try them to prevent ear aches after you have healed up.
