Why Nintendo Is Brilliant

Have you seen the games that are bundled in the Wii Play package? If not, here's a sampling:
Shooting Range
Tanks
Laser Hockey
In other words: Duck Hunt, Combat, and Pong. Except infinitely more awesome because they use the Wii remote. This is exactly the right thing to do - re-publish classic games that have play which is utterly timeless, and will take on a whole new dimension with the freedom and novelty of the Wii remote. This successfully recaptures an enormous lost audience; my sister used to school my ass in Combat on the Atari, and I'm sure she'll want to do this again on the Wii.
I want more than anything in the world to be able to play Shadow of the Colossus on my Wii. I want to swing the sword around and stab those giant bastards, and then use the nunchuk and hold my hands up in the air to climb up them... but this would mean that SCE would have to make games for the Wii, and I'm not holding my breath for that. I'll really love seeing the first real platformer on Wii and seeing how gameplay gets extended and transformed with the remote.
Did you notice that a remote is bundled with Wii play? Because they know that everything is all about the remote. As long as they have the remote, Nintendo wins. I can't stress this enough.
