Yes, it's true. I'm sorry that I've been hiding this terrible secret from all of you for the last year, but today I figured I should share the truth with everyone.

Con Ed discovered a little while ago that I've been paying for the electricity of the Mexicans that live in the apartment forward of me since I moved in. This was apparently an oversight on the part of my landlord, mainly a mistake that his electrician made some time ago. He's got four separate meters; one for me, one for the hall lights, one for the business, and one for his upstairs home - so he thought since he's getting three bills, everything was okay. The forward apartment is supposed to be hooked up to the store meter... instead, it's hooked up to mine. Whoops.

I knew I was paying too much for electricity. I'm tremendously excited by the prospect of only paying for my own electricity usage! I bet I'm only using about 30 bucks of electricity a month. Maybe LESS. How awesome would that be? My 2008 budget would have an extra $500 in it. Also, Con Ed is going to give my landlord an estimate for how much money I paid extra last year... probably something like $500 itself, maybe more. I'll probably be able to take that right off the top of next month's rent.

Uhm....what's the deal with that family? Are they going to get hit with two years' worth of costs??

I doubt it, my landlord's not a dick in the slightest - their rent includes electric, and they're basically two parents and baby living in a studio. He may raise their rent slightly to cover their electricity, but I doubt it, he'll probably just suck up the cost. I think the husband works for him anyway.

Funny thing is, I never would have really suspected anything if they hadn't started using a space heater in November. I thought my bill was too high considering my conservation, but I had no idea it was more than 50% higher than it should be.

unknown.

step 1. Confirm Agents 1 & 2 will be joining us
step 2. Discuss financial situations of all Agents in attendance
step 3. Discuss available travel radii of all Agents in attendance
step 4. Propose dining options

we have some time before V-Day. no need for haste.

Agent M financial status is GREEN. Agent M travel radii approximate to Agent S.

Unless you're talking about later in 2008, and not the upcoming potential Saturday in Boston at the end of January...

PICCO (I love this place)
Theatre district

DalĂ Restaurant & Tapas Bar
415 Washington St.
Somerville, MA

Blue Room I go to frequently, as it's around the corner from my work, so I'd like to avoid that. It's also loud at night.

Dunno PICCO or Sage (which appears to be near where I used to live in the South End). However, nearby Sage is The Butcher Shop, which is a mighty fine place to get a glass or two of wine and some charcuterie.

Dali I've wanted to go to for some time...that might be a good choice. Also is in Somerville/Cambridge and thus easier to get to for Agent B. Probably for H as well. They're supposed to have a solid wine list. I've also wanted to eat at Les Zygomates, another crazy wine place.

Still, many choices abound.
