Srsly. I have recently taken to making half the amount of food I think I should for a given party. I still end up with too much food.

I had about 5 cancellations today - people who RSVP'd yes and then had to cancel at the very last minute.

I basically overdid it with the sandwich ingredients (lunch meats); if I had only gotten half that stuff I wouldn't have quite so much left over. Lots of sandwiches for me the next couple days... I made just the right amount of jalapeno poppers and pizza though, and the desserts were enough. What I will probably do tomorrow is turn the rest of my bread into pizza and freeze it for later.

"Get 1/2 the amount of food."

What if I show up for the party? Then what will your guests eat? Always plan for my arrival. I'm sorta like Elijah in that way.

later
