Pissed Off
Oct. 21st, 2004 10:16 amI saw Unprecedented and Unconstitutional last night - it turns out the Shaughnessey Theatre is an art house theatre right up the street from me in Hyannis. They've got a digital projector and a twelve foot screen, squishy couches to sit on, and a little cafe to get snacks from.
These movies really got me ripped as hell. The Bush family and its Republican cronies truly stole this nation right out from under our noses - thousands upon thousands of Democrats were denied their right to vote in Florida (many of them were black and labeled as felons by a database matching system that Republican election officials deliberately designed to remove Democratic voters). If we had truly recounted all the votes in Florida in 2000, the world might be a completely different place today. Instead the Republicans sent political operatives to actually subvert the election process and performed a number of illegal actions to carry Bush into office. DO NOT DOUBT that they already have a ton of dirty tricks lined up for this election.
ILLEGAL. Do you get that? Do you understand that we have had a man in office for the last four years who conspired with his brother and the Republican party to swindle his way into world leadership?
The other movie, Unconstitutional, elaborates on the myriad ways that the 345 page USA PATRIOT act undermines our Constitution. A document filled with legislation that had been previously voted down by Congress, swept into law to expand the powers of our the Justice Department right into secret police/KGB territory.
These conspiratorial assholes sneer at us and at everything our country stands for. They piss all over the world and fill their fists with money and laugh at us for giving them the power to do so.
